Ex-Chamber CEO Cited for Allegedly Serving Alcohol Without License at Cypress 'Studio'
Second undercover sting operation at Cypress Avenue venue by ABC officers results in citation and provisional court date.
A relatively quiet week by recent standards, though two weapons arrests—including an armed security guard working illegally with a restraining order prohibiting firearm possession—stand out. Vehicle thefts continue, and the usual parade of public intoxication and opportunistic property crimes rounds out the log. Here's what happened.
Armed Security Guard Arrested
In one of the week's more notable incidents, a subject working as an armed security guard on Pier Avenue was found to have a restraining order prohibiting him from owning or possessing a firearm. He was arrested on February 26th.
Gun and Open Tequila in Parked Car
Officers contacted four occupants in a parked vehicle at 22nd Street & Beach Drive late on February 24th. The driver was found in possession of an unloaded handgun and a loaded magazine, plus open bottles of tequila. He was arrested on gun charges.
A subject arrested for DUI at 16th Street & Loma Drive early on February 25th was found during a search to be in possession of cocaine, adding drug charges to the DUI.
Car Stolen from Dealership
A vehicle was stolen from a car dealership on PCH between February 22-23. Whether this was a test drive gone wrong or an after-hours theft isn't specified in the report.
Vehicle Parts Theft
Someone disassembled and stole the side step from a vehicle parked on PCH, also taking the vehicle's battery (February 24-25).
Electric Scooter Stolen
An unlocked electric scooter was stolen from 22nd Street & The Strand (February 26th). Lock your rides, people.
Bicyclist Arrested with Stolen E-Bike
A subject riding a bicycle on Hermosa Avenue was contacted by officers and found to be carrying an electric bicycle missing its front wheel (February 23rd). The subject was arrested for possession of stolen property.
Phone Snatched from Restroom
A victim set their phone down on a restroom countertop at Pier Avenue. Another subject grabbed the phone and fled, chased by the victim (February 28th).
Unlocked Vehicle Searched
An unlocked vehicle on 9th Street was entered overnight February 26-27. Thieves searched through paperwork and baby items before stealing sunglasses and earphones.
Three hit-and-run incidents with property damage were reported:
Two citations for driving on suspended/revoked licenses were issued at 8th & Hermosa (February 26th and 27th).
In Redondo Beach, HBPD assisted with two suspended license citations—one on February 21st and another on February 23rd involving expired/no registration as well.
Three public intoxication arrests were made:
Public Urination with Fake ID
A subject cited for public urination on 13th Court was also found to be in possession of a false ID (February 22nd).
A vehicle's passenger side door was dented on PCH (February 28th).
Email Used for Porn Site Account
A victim reported receiving spam and emails from various accounts after their email was used to create an account on a pornographic site. The incident was first noticed in October 2025 but reported in February (February 25th).
Officers recovered:
A bicycle was also taken for safekeeping on Pier Avenue.
