A man in his 50s riding an e-bike sustained serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle on Pacific Coast Highway Monday evening.

The Hermosa Beach Police Department responded to reports of a traffic collision with injuries near the 1800 block of PCH at approximately 7 p.m. According to police, a northbound driver of a gray Toyota Camry swerved into the center turn lane to avoid stopped traffic and struck the e-bike rider.

Paramedics transported the victim to the hospital with serious injuries. At the time of writing, no further update had been released on the man’s condition.

Police traffic investigators are conducting an investigation into the collision. PCH was shut down in the area as multiple officers examined the scene. Television news cameras were hovering above the area of the accident at around 11pm.
